Concrete is a mixture of cement, water and other materials such as stones and sand. The Concrete hardens quickly due to their chemical content and this serves as a fusion between materials.

The Concrete allowed the development of domes, vaults, bridges, culverts, etc.

The Reinforced concrete invented (1849) by Joseph Monier, who received a patent in 1867, and contains embedded metal. The manufacture of reinforced concrete have high cost but competitive as other materials.

Concrete is often used in hardscape construction. For instance, concrete may be used to create sidewalks or support a wooden deck of any material. Furthermore, the reinforced concrete reduces the size of the supports and loads.
